Gum Removal

gum removal in cedar park

Need Gum Gone? Chewing gum removal can be a sticky business, whether it is stuck on your concrete, parking lot or on the side of a building, gum eventually transforms into a smudge on your concrete. But before that happens, visitors and customers walking into a store or office will step on it and get it in all over the carpets and mats. Then it is embedded deep into the carpet fibers and into the porous surface of concrete or asphalt, just waiting for someone to step in it again, to track it somewhere else.

We are proud to provide gum removal as one of our commercial pressure washing services in Cedar Park TX. Find more information on our service below:

The best methods of removing gum from concrete usually depends on the gum’s age and the level of penetration into the concrete surface. If the chewing gum was left recently and it hasn’t penetrated the surface, we might be able to remove it by covering it with ice until the gum freezes, then scraping the gum off with a metal putty knife.

The ice forces the chewing gum to freeze into a more forgiving consistency compared to a warm and stringy glob. Once the chewing gum is frozen, we slide a putty knife or scraper directly under the gum residue. Then we slide the scraper very slowly under the gum and the entire piece should then peel right off the concrete.

The above process is only possible with gum that is brand new.

When we remove gum that has turned black, or is already smashed deep down into the concrete surface, we use a hot water power washer with the heat dialed up to 200 Degrees to melt the gum. For this type of gum removal service, we will not use high pressure because that will sometimes damage the surface of the concrete!

Our crew never uses more pressure than needed to safely clean commercial concrete surfaces. These surfaces can be destroyed a lot easier than most people think, especially if they’re only 1-2 years old. Concrete can require up to 100 years to cure. That is why we always use hot water and the least amount of pressure possible for our gum removal service.

To remove gum from parking lots and other commercial surfaces we use custom designed hot water pressure washing equipment and powerful soaps that allow us to effectively clean the concrete without causing any damages.

Using special 200 degree hot water pressure washers and low pressure, we are able to safely remove gum and dirt while protecting the surface. Our service will also destroy bacteria and viruses that can be found in gum on concrete.
